Design and characterization of fast dissolving buccal film of imipramine HCL

نویسندگان

چکیده

In depressed individuals, Imipramine exerts a positive effect on mood. TCAs are potent inhibitors of serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake. hydrochloride having variable bioavailability i.e. ranging from 29-77% due to first pass metabolism, peak plasma concentration is usually attained 2-6 hours. Absorption unaffected by food. It freely soluble in water. The objective this research work improve the drug fast onset action decrease depressant activity. Buccal HCL only for reason can be administered into mucosa using mucoadhesive film. made release directly enter blood circulation through increase bioavailability. Fast dissolving films were prepared solvent casting method various polymers like hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose E15, PVP, PVA sodium saccharin, plasticizer vanillin as flavouring agent. Dissolution profile studied USP dissolution apparatus type 1 pH 6.8 simulated saliva. influence polymer was studied. formulation optimized basis evaluation parameters content vitro release. Formulation F3 successfully within 8 minutes. IR Spectra revealed absence interaction between selected polymer, results stability studies per ICH guide lines indicated that stable.

Development of polymer-bound fast-dissolving metformin buccal film with disintegrants

Fast-dissolving drug-delivery systems are considered advantageous over the existing conventional oral dosage forms like tablets, capsules, and syrups for being patient friendly. Buccal films are one such system responsible for systemic drug delivery at the desired site of action by avoiding hepatic first-pass metabolism. Metformin hydrochloride (Met), an antidiabetic drug, has poor bioavailabil...

Design, Formulation and Characterization of Fast Dissolving Films Containing Dextromethorphan

The aim of this study was to formulate and characterize fast dissolving films containing dextromethorphan hydrobromide (DM) for oral use. Hydroxylpropyl methylcellulose E15 (HPMC) was used as the film forming polymer and crosspovidone (CPV), microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) were used as superdisintegrants. In this study, medicated films were prepared by solvent casting method. The physicochemic...

Formulation & Evaluation of Fast dissolving Buccal films of Sertraline

The hydrochloride of Sertraline is a white crystalline powder; slightly soluble in water and freely soluble in ethanol [1]. It is a drug of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) that is chemically unrelated to other SSRIs, tricyclic, tetracyclic, or other available antidepressant drugs. Sertraline inhibit the inactivation of serotonin (5hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT) by blocking its absorp...
